This is great. It is so amazing how we quickly identify others and ourselves via fashion. Quick story. One of my dear friends is a man I met in undergrad school. He's very tall and very thin. At the time he had long hair - maybe about half-way between shoulder and elbow - it's very black and straight as a board. He also had a mustache that I only know how to describe as "fu-man-chu" style. I wish I had a different descrition. Anyway - he also rode a motorcycle, wore heavy black leather motorcycle boots, a faded jean jacket with a harley davidson patch on the back (remember, this is the early 80s...) anyway. The guy was a little scary looking. ANd he was the sweetest, gentlest guy on the planet. He embroidered; at the holidays he made for his friends pads of notepapers that said things like "over the rainbow is a great place to be". I always smile when I think of his fashion choices and the ways he presented.
